Newcastle United Personalised Football Calendar

Magnificent Gift Idea For Fans Of The Magpies!

Newcastle United FC was elected to the football leagues in 1893 and has since gone on to become a hugely popular club, with a great mixture of home grown talent and foreign players. The Magpies enjoyed a lot of early success and with crowds flocking to St James' Park, triumphs extended into the 1950s where Newcastle won three FA Cups in the space of five years. The club enjoyed another fantastic era when charismatic manager Kevin Keegan joined the Magpies as manager in 1992. 'King Kev' soon led Newcastle United back into the top flight following a period in the Second Division and he delivered the free-flowing football that the Tyneside crowd had been craving.

Our Personalised Newcastle United Calendars feature a selection of match reports on some of the most exciting games from the past seventy years. Starting from the month of your choice, these terrific A3 Calendars are a perfect gift choice for any fan of the Magpies, as the fascinating newspaper articles will bring back terrific memories of some fantastic fixtures.

Calendar Highlights

These Personalised Newcastle United Calendars cover a variety of matches from different competitions, starting with two FA Cup wins in the early 1950s. In the 1960s, the Magpies's league form had stuttered and the club found themselves down in the Second Division. However, Newcastle gained promotion in 1965 following a 2-0 victory against Bolton FC.

The A3 Calendar features another exciting promotion-clinching game, this time from 1993. The club had hit a new worrying spell of form, perhaps reflecting the chaos that was going in in the Newcastle United boardroom. The Magpies had been plummeting towards bankruptcy and their position on the Second Division table was also in free-fall. Ex-Newcastle player Kevin Keegan was brought into the club as manager and he formed an instant partnership with new chairman, Sir John Hall. Together they stabilised the club, and a 2-0 win away to Grimsby ensured promotion to the Premiership with one game to spare. Investment in new players followed and in 1994, Newcastle announced their arrival in the UEFA Cup with a 5-0 thrashing away to Antwerp.

The Calendar Gift includes a selection of other exciting European games from the following decade. In 1997, over 200 million viewers watched Newcastle United beat FC Barcelona 3-2 in the first match of the Champions League's 'Group of Death'. Tino Asprilla had been struggling in league matches, but he seemed to thrive in Europe and his hat-trick was a magical moment for fans of the Magpies. In 2001, Newcastle beat 1860 Munich 3-1 in the UEFA Intertoto Cup, and in 2004, Sochaux were thrashed 4-0 during the second round of the main competition.
