Birmingham City Personalised Football Calendar
A Blues Calendar With A Difference!
Birmingham City Football Club has certainly had an eventful journey through the British football leagues! FA Cup Finals, Championship success and promotion have unfortunately been dampened by relegation battles and periods in the Third Division. However, special players and many incredible performances have continued to lighten the mood at St Andrews, even during the darker days of the club.
We have dug through our newspaper archives to find a selection of match reports from some of these stand-out games, collecting them together as part of a unique Personalised Calendar. Starting from the month of your choice, these Football Calendars are a brilliant gift idea for fans of the Blues.
Calendar Features
Your Birmingham City Calendar includes match reports from the games that earned the club league promotion in 1955, 1972, 1985 and 1992. If these don't bring back enough fantastic memories for fans, you can also enjoy reading about reaching the club's first FA Cup Final in 1930 and forcing a semi-final replay against top division leaders Derby in 1946.
We have also selected a variety of other fabulous victories from the club's history. In 1960, Birmingham City scored two goals in two minutes to beat Sheffield Wednesday 4-2. In 1980, headlines claimed that the 'True Blues' had returned, as a welcome 3-1 victory over Arsenal stopped a run of terrible form that was threatening to destroy Birmingham FC's season.
Finally, we have also added a 3-0 home thrashing of local rivals Aston Villa in your A3 Calendar; this match was masterminded in 1982 by former manager Ron Saunders.
As well as celebrating former matches, these Calendar Gifts also commemorate key figures from Birmingham City FC. There is the appointment of former player Trevor Francis as manager in 1996, an outstanding Blues win against Everton masterminded by popular boss Steve Bruce and a report on the spectacular individual performance against Leeds by the record signing of the time, Clinton Morrison.
